Hi everybody,
I'm currently working on a project (subtitles translation), and there's an expression for which I don't have any clue about its meaning.
Here is the entire sentence :
This search for the sublime do us outwards and upwards.
It's about the "do us outwards and upwards" part, does anyone could explain it to me so I could try to find a French equivalent ?
Thanks in advance !!

Hi !
I'm not sure, but the French translation may be something like "La recherche du sublime nous met dans tous nos états" or "La recherche du sublime nous rend fou"... Il y a l'idée, je pense, "d'étirer l'esprit".
Hope I helped !

Hey, thanks for the tip.
I also guess it's something like that, I'm going to follow that lead.
To give you a bit of context, this is about why did humans start trying to climb mountains and their "go upward" obsession.
Thank you again !
