Hello
How do you find my engineer definition? Is that good? I must add something?
thanks!
It is a person who uses scientific knowledge to solve practical problems. An engineer is a person who can work alone or in a team. He is intelligent and talented. Throughout its career, the functions of the engineer can evolve: foreman (chef d atelier), director of manufacturing unit, person in charge for formation. The engineer can occupy all the stations (poste) requiring at the same time responsibility and technical skills (competence)
Specialized in a field, engineer remains generalist in order to be able to adapt to the developments as well industrial and socio-economic. The current manufacturing processes calling more and more concepts and techniques resulting from different disciplinary fields, the engineers must be able to learn and control complementary specialities, to coordinate the action of specialists resulting from different disciplines, or to lead interdisciplinary projects.

Hello !
I think such a definition fits well, except one sentence that could be discussed "He is intelligent and talented." When this is the case, most of the time his (or her) talent was acquired thanks to his (or her) formation. Of course one can be intelligent and talented before becoming an engineer, but it would be more correct to say that he HAS TO BE talented in science disciplines, communication, group work, and intelligent enough to solve quickly the problems he is expected to deal with.
I don't have much experience, but I'm in an engineering college, this is why I took the liberty of helping you correct your definition, from what I'm learning.
Good job, anyway
